The first race in the English series Fell started with the Edale Skyline Fell race, and Horwich Harriers was involved.

Reputed to be one of the most emblematic and difficult fall races in the United Kingdom, the course famous for beauty and brutality covers 32 km and more than 4000 feet of climbing on a hard, technical and varied terrain of rocky paths, peat bogs, stiff climbs and exposed crest lines.

Five Hardy Harriers took up the challenge in an area of ​​quality competitors, including many GB and European titles.

The veteran of the club Dan Gilbert took 3:39:26 to cross the line in 148th, Julian Goudge finished 188th with a time of 3:55:41 and Nick Kelly has timed 4:01:12 in 200.

Two Horwich Harriers Intrepid, Richard O’Reilly and Marcus Taylor, left for Spain this week for the Malaga half-marathon.

Although it is not with the same prestige as its northern counterpart in Valence, despite a hill start, the route is relatively flat and fast with a course record of less than 60 minutes.

Taylor caught a stomach bug and was too sick to make the starting line, leaving O’Reilly as a representative of the solo red vest and he finished 522nd from a record field of 8,000 runners to simply pinch a top 20 position in the VET55 category with a time of 1.5 hours: 33.

The London Marathoner at the training, Milly Lever, took his first half-marathon in Stafford, finishing 21st women of 576 runners in a good moment of 1:37:13.

In Parkrun’s weekly shooting, Marie Lowe and Sean Mctyler followed the South of Manchester’s South Cours, finishing a laudable fifth, 57th in total in 21:33 and second VET60, 127th in 24:18 in a generally solid field of 587 parkrunners.

The Duo Père-et-Fils Robert and Mark Seddon were 11th (22:02) and 52nd (26:40), respectively, in Bolton, while in Worsley Woods in another large field of 552 georgia Heath runners had an excellent race as the first woman (20:47), followed by Andrew Storey (191e, 27:45) Stone (360th, 32:29).

In what must be one of the largest fields in Parkrun, 789 runners were released in Burgess, including a Paul Kaye ranked 92nd in a respectable age group of 21:50 and the third in an age group. In Huntington, he was not unlucky number 13 for Andrew Crickmore with a time of 21:57, while Glyn Kay took off in Ormskirk to claim 47th (23:12).

In Pendle, Graham Schofield won a top 10 result with a sixth place in 24:03, while a generally low Harrier participation rate at Haigh Hall saw a unique and regular entrant, Gillian Smith, putting the barcode to the 216th (36:55). The middletons stayed near them in Stretford, Jason ending the 115th (23:01) and Janet 456th (30:17), while a solitary tony Hesketh was ventured in Leyland for Worden Park, winning the VET75 category in 30:09.

The Jackson Two group contributed in their favorite park peel – Rob on its 100th parkrun was just outside the top 10 in 11th with a cracking time of 18:29 – still good enough to catch the first VET55 now compulsory and the uncle Steve crossed the 508e line in 34:21.

The Parkrunner Prize for the week was awarded to Isaac Battleye for its second placement in Endcliffe in a quick 16:49.
