Lostocker Paul Lacey finished his third half-marathon in 2025 by completing the Wilmslow half-marathon.
It is a well -organized race and nearly 3,500 competitors take place along beautiful country roads.
There is also a 10 km race and both start at the same time, making it an extremely fast start with 10K participants pushing the pace of half-marathon runners.
As a result, Lacey admits that he started too fast, settling in mile if on average 7 minutes 50 seconds per Mile. Although he knows that he had to slow down, Lacey did not do it and in the new mile, he really started to feel it.
He participated in another runner who underwent an injury to the hamstrings, so they chose to slow down and travel four miles stable to finish the race together.
Despite the setbacks, Lacey had an incredible race, finishing in 1 h 55 minutes 33 seconds.
Jo McManus competed in the Liverpool 10 Mile race as part of the BTR Liverpool Running Festival, which started in the emblematic liver building.
While the starting pistol fired, the runners jumped forward, heading along the seafront during the first mile before the route took them in front of the historic quay of Albert. A clear left on rue du Parlement with a slight climb before finishing the loop around the Sefton park. The runners then went to Aigburth before the route went to the seafront, going up to the liver building.
McManus had a fantastic race, ending in 1:17:57. She was the 13th woman to finish and was fourth in her age category.
Lostock AC is proud of member Jon Tuson who has completed his first round since the suffering of a heart attack. In order not to start small, Tuson participated in the Nitters 5.5K canicross with his dog Huxley.
The race begins at Bank Hall Park in Burnley, heading for Rowley. For his return, Tuson decided to start near the back and the competitors were launched at 30 seconds intervals. Tuson had planned to be reasonable and jog around the first 4 km, then push from there to the finish if he felt strong.
Towards the end, Tuson asked a marshal how far he had left and when the Marshal replied “two minutes”, he felt so well that he was able to sprint on arrival.
Tuson had a fantastic race and appreciated every moment because he also collected funds for the Pundle Dogs charity.
