Pep Guardiola prints performance as “really poor” after a disappointing season

Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has evaluated his own performance this season as “really poor”.

City endured a disappointing campaign compared to their notes, having failed to set up a solid defense of its title of Premier League and collapsed from the Champions League before the last 16.

A certain number of factors have contributed to the disappointing yield of the city, including injuries to key players, including the long -term absent Rodri.

However, Guardiola, winner of 18 trophies during his nine years at the Etihad stadium, does not apologize for the calculation, believing that he should have done better.

Asked how he had seen his work, Spanish said: “This season? Really poor.

“The opponents never gave us a red carpet to win the titles we have won in the past. My duty was to overcome the situation much better than I did.

“Some details are the reason why it happened and I hope it will not happen next season. This is important.”

The readjusted objectives of the city for the rest of the season are now to ensure qualification in the Champions League and win the FA Cup. They then have the additional challenge of the Club World Cup during the summer.

However, even if they succeed with these remaining objectives, Guardiola believes that this would not mask the global disappointment he feels from last year.

“Of course, it would be good to arrive in the FA Cup final and win it, and to qualify for the Champions League,” said Guardiola, whose team goes to Bournemouth in the quarterfinals on Sunday.

“It would be a great success, but the season was bad and it will not change.

“Our standards and many things were not good, it is reality. This will not change for the fact that we win a title or we qualify for the Champions League.

“We will be happy, of course. We want to do it but the season has not been good.”
