The Prime Minister must test separate sections for fans outside in two games next month in order to create a better atmosphere among fans and raise attendance rates.

Normally, there is no separation for fans of the house and exterior teams, and the league said that the test zones will not lead all of the stands on each ground, leaving the fans capable of mixing with the opposition supporters if they wished.

The separate seats are tested during the Saracens match against Gloucester on April 19 and the Leicester match against the Harlequins on April 26, according to The guardian. This decision is part of a premiere campaign to increase attendance, with an 82% target during the season, against its current average by 81%.

The Harlequins have officially reconciled small sections of land for large groups of fans in recent seasons, since their victory of 43-36 in the semi-finals against Bristol at Ashton Gate in 2021, which was detained under cocovid restrictions.

Harlequins Flanker Will Evans previously expressed his support for the idea, saying: “Rugby stadiums need an area of designated fans which remains the same year. We can no longer continue to remember the game. It is at the limit of arrogance that we think that we are the only sport where people can sit together and not be violent.

“Players want it. You will see a better product because of this. By all means, sit in the house and chat with the locals, no problem. But that adds very little for the atmosphere inside the stadium.”

Speaking at the end of last year, when the idea was deposited for the first time, Pat Lam, the director of Bristol rugby, said: “I am behind any idea that increases the game, the fans base and the atmosphere. I would support something like that.

“You can provide both if the fans want to sit together. In football, I think it’s different why they have to do that [split the fans up]. Fortunately, it’s not us. Once the opposition fans are starting, this can advance the crowd. »»
